Gordon Hayward, Kyrie Irving, Marcus Smart, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin McHale, Larry Bird, not one of those guys mattered in the slightest in this Celtics playoff victory.
The Greek Freak averaged 26.9 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in the regular season. Yet somehow he and his playoff Bucks were unable to finish off the Boston Celtics that have a few young guys and Al Horford for their healthy lineup. Despite this weak sounding team 4 players scored 20+ points and Jayson Tatum scored 19, why is that? Maybe Brad Stevens is a great coach? Maybe Terry Rozier is an elite player? Maybe the Bucks suck? Or maybe at this point the NBA isn’t following any written rule, maybe a bunch of crazy stuff is just gonna happen, maybe this is gonna be a super fun post-season.
The Rockets (1 seed) only beat the Timberwolves (8 seed) by 3 points. The only reason they managed to achieve that feat is because James Harden scored 44 points absolutely refusing to lose. The Wolves are good, a cool, fun team, but they shouldn’t touch these powerful Rockets.
The Trailblazers (3 seed) lost to the Pelicans (6 seed) by 2 points. This game is crazy because its weird to think about these teams having these spots in the playoffs. How did the Trailblazers get the 3? 1 and 2 are Rockets and Warriors, duh, but what about the other big bad west teams? The Spurs would up a 7? The All-Star Thunder 4? And the Lakers didn’t even make the playoffs??? (Just kidding about that last part) If the Pelicans had a healthy DeMarcus Cousins in the lineup I’d imagine the Blazers would’ve had an even harder time with the Pelicans. Which is weird in itself because they have 2 elite guards and an amazing coach.
The Cavaliers (4 seed) lost to the Pacers (5 seed) by 18 points, thats brutal. How does LeBron James end up a 4 seed and how does he lose to the Pacers?
The Raptors didn’t lose in the first game.
Oh yeah and the 76ers blew out the Heat a team that has been a playoff staple for the past decade.
Just goes to show the NBA we’re witnessing is a wild one and anything can happen and anything can change at any time. Predicting what could happen next is a difficult task but there is one thing I can tell you and I know its the truth.
The Celtics are still a force to be reckoned with.
