Taco Bell is a great fast food restaurant, and I often find myself getting different menu items there. I know that it’s a joke that some of their menu items are different shapes but are composed of essentially the same ingredients, but there are actually a few differences in every product. So much so, that I decided to count down my five favorites today. I’m not counting Baja Blast or their freezes; I’m counting down food items. Let’s begin.
#5: Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
I love potatoes, cheese, and sour cream. Those three components combine to make a truly fantastic side dish. The fresh potatoes are satisfying to eat, and the warm cheesy sauce and cool sour cream make it all the better. A good starter to any meal.
#4: Doritos Locos Tacos
These things took the world by storm when they first launched. At first there was only Nacho Cheese, but they then added Cool Ranch and my personal favorite, Fiery. Even though it isn’t a full-time Doritos flavor, it’s still a tasty taco shell. What I love about all three of these is that the flavors of them don’t overshadow the taste of the taco. You can still taste the beef and toppings just fine. That makes these tacos truly special.
#3: Beefy Crunch Burrito/Beefy Fritos Burrito
I’m putting these two on the same list entry because they’re essentially the same thing (I know I joked about that earlier but whatever). The Beefy Crunch Burrito has sour cream, and the Beefy Fritos Burrito doesn’t. On both of these burritos, the beef and rice are a satisfying combination. The Fritos on both of them also bring a nice crunch and flavor, truly tasting like a taco wrapped up in a tortilla.
#2: Cheesy Gordita Crunch
I just crave this thing. Taco Bell is no stranger to wrapping soft shells around hard shells, but this variant is easily the best. I love the floury gordita shell with the warm, melted cheese on it. It complements the hard shell and taco contents perfectly. Personally, I prefer to get this with a Fiery shell, but sometimes I get a plain taco shell or Nacho Cheese shell.
#1: Beefy 5-Layer Burrito
This, in my opinion, is the epitome of Taco Bell. Beef, refried beans, sour cream, melted cheese, and a warm cheese sauce. They just go together perfectly. I said that I experiment with what I get in my order, but I always make sure to get a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito.
