While on vacation in Hilton Head, South Carolina my crew decided to go to “Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks” for dinner. Jasmine, our daughter Zelda, and myself went out to find our waterfront dinner.
As the image above shows, we made a pretty reasonable mistake and wound up at the wrong restaurant ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but it ended up being okay because we were in for the best dinner of our week-long stay.
We started off with a sweet tea and a water to drink in a very visually pleasing atmosphere. Our waitress was very nice and we decided to take an extra minute in looking over the menu. The whole menu can be seen here but I got the shrimp & grits and Jasmine got fried popcorn shrimp with french fries.
Jasmine’s shrimp was as wonderful as fresh fried seafood gets and Zelda told me later that her breastmilk was equally delicious. My shrimp & grits however, was absolutely divine. That was probably the best shrimp I’ve ever had in my life, that paired so well with the peppers, onions, and grits. Not to mention that Kielbasa is sometimes very hit or miss for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed it in this meal. I had never had cheese grits before but definitely enjoyed them. Finally, the house BBQ sauce, what I was most excited for, was out of this world. The amazing flavor of the drizzle across all of the different foods caused beautiful combinations you couldn’t imagine.
In short, it was a part in the back of my mouth and 2 meats, 2 vegetables, cheese grits, and a holy BBQ sauce were invited. So thanks to Skull Creek Dockside Waterfront Restaurant for a great dinner. Their website can be found here. If you’re ever in Hilton Head, you should definitely check this place out.
