Slim Chickens- A One-Visit Review

Hello everybody and welcome back to the Mid-American page. As I am sure you all have noticed, we are all doing food reviews on a place we have hardly ate at. Therefore, I took my lovely girlfriend, Lyric, to the new Slim Chickens in Ashland, Kentucky.

The Chicken and Fries

The chicken was a delightful surprise. This chicken chain competes with the big dogs (Zaxby’s and Raising Canes) and I think they have them beat. The chicken is very juicy and lightly breaded and is just a delight. The fries were pretty good. They were crisp and had the perfect amount of salt. It gained the Lyric Bair score of a 9/10 and the fries got a 7/10.

The Sauces

If you’re like me, the sauce can make or break a meal. Slim Chickens features a ton of sauce you can choose from. I selected their signature Slim sauce and cayenne ranch. The Slim sauce had a very weird taste to me, but it grew on me in the end. Now the cayenne ranch had a very good taste with a slight kick to it. Lyric chose the Slim sauce and normal ranch. She hated the Slim sauce, but the ranch may have been the best ranch we’ve ever had.

Dessert

Slim Chickens also feature jar deserts with all sorts of flavors. Lyric and I chose the strawberry cheesecake jar. This was a flavorful explosion with fresh strawberries, strawberry cheesecake chunks, and whip cream. This somehow got the Lyric rate of 6/10, but it gets the 10/10 from me.

If you have yet, go check out Slim Chickens. If you have had Slim Chickens, let us know what you think about it in the comments! As always thank you for spending apart of your Friday with the Mid-American Crew and I. Stay tuned for more fresh daily content.
