Was Astroworld Really the Best Album that Dropped Last Week?

Hello everybody and welcome back to my the Mid-American page. I know some of you are looking at the title and thinking, “Is this guy serious?” Well just stay tuned and look at this mini review I give of two albums that dropped last week.

Last Friday, the long awaited Astroworld album dropped last week. Travis Scott has been working on this for quiet some time and many people, myself included, have been sitting on pins and needles waiting for this bad boy to come out. I saw the track list and features and instantly got excited.

I did enjoy the entire album, but the more and more I listen I feel like this could have been better. Now I can’t put a finger on it, but there is something missing. My personal favorites from the album are “Carousel”, “Wake Up”, “NC-17”, and “Yosemite”. Personally, I did not go crazy for “Sicko Mode”, but the I do love the best drop it. The Astroworld merch was amazing. It was a lot better than the album. I could help but cop two shirts.. However, I do give the album a 8/10.

Now, the second album that dropped that day completely stole the spotlight from Travis (for me, at least) was Mac Miller’s Swimming.

Mac has been through some shit from losing his girl to a DUI charge. It makes me extremely happy that he has come back swinging and I think he knocked it out of the park. The best way for me to describe this album is that old Mac and new Mac had a love child. This album has amazing bars, a good flow, and just a very mellow vibe. Personal favorites from this album are “Self Care”, “Dunno”, “2009”, and “So It Goes”. This is the first Mac Miller album I’m going to give a 10/10.

What did you think of the albums that were dropped last week? Let us know in the comments! As always thank you for spending a part of your Friday with me. Stay tuned for more fresh daily content from myself and the rest of the Mid-American crew.
