Conway the Machine & The Alchemist “Lulu” Album Review

Griselda’s Conway the Machine and legendary producer The Alchemist link up for a beautiful 7 track project called Lulu.

Conway the Machine is my favorite member of the rap group Griselda. If you haven’t explored their music I would definitely recommend giving them a listen. Something like Wu-Tang Clan and G-Unit but modern day is what Griselda can be compared to. Conway has the best delivery and ad-libs in my opinion and that’s what I love about him. Put that over Alchemist’s deep banging beats and there’s a great project.

The album’s cover

The first track is a skit intro, but it’s followed by 6 songs that dabble between drug dealing and luxury rap. Aside from Schoolboy Q on the hook to the album’s single (see below) and fellow New Yorker Cormega giving a verse, the rest of the bars are solely by Conway. It stays short and sweet coming in at 23 minutes and gives Conway the perfect time to keep your attention but also to say what he has to say. The Alchemist is far from disappointing with amazing production that is easy to expect from him. I would easily give the short project a 7 out of 10 and it will continue to get plays from me.
